According to comScore Video Metrix, nearly 173 million U.S. Internet users watched 32.4 billion videos in January 2010. That means an average of 187 videos per viewer during the month.

135.4 million viewers watched 12.7 billion videos on Google's YouTube, which is an average of 93.4 videos per viewer. It also represents an increase of 50 percent versus year ago.

Now, with these numbers, what could be the Google's next step? How can they exploit these stats? Well, according to the Wall Street Journal, Google is testing a new TV programming search service with Dish Network. They are trying to combine the Internet with traditional TV:

"The service—which runs on TV set-top boxes using elements of Google’s Android operating system—allows users to search content from Dish as well as other Web video, like YouTube, and to personalize a lineup of shows, according to these people.

Viewers can search by typing on a keyboard, instead of using a remote control. Google hopes to link the service up with its nascent TV ad-brokering business, allowing it to target ads to individual households based on viewing and TV search data."

In a recent survey of US new TV buyers iSuppli found that 27 percent of TVs were connected to the internet, as published by SearchEngineLand:

Going back to comScore's survey, here are several rankings which could give a clear picture of the media market right now:

SEO world is not limited to Fulltraffic's packages or key terms. SEO involves everything you can do by yourself to keep your website on top of the results lists in every search engine.

By doing so, you ensure a reasonable ammount of traffic to your website, beyond Fulltraffic's help. This includes involving in social media, keeping up to date with news and making a great design for your website, etc.

Having a great design and providing a great service for your reader makes your website a reference, a place where people would love to come back.

Now Google has introduced a new feature to its search engine that rewards your efforts towards loyalty - stars. The new element allows readers to "star" a website on the results list, so that the next time they perform a search, that item will appear in a special list right at the top of their results when relevant.

That means if they star the official websites for SEO, they might see those results right at the top of their next search for [SEO]. Here's what the new "Starred results" feature looks like:

What's cool about stars is that you don't have to keep track of them. You don't even have to remember whether or not you starred something. When you perform a search you'll just rediscover your starred items right when you need them.

In addition, stars sync with Google Bookmarks and the Google Toolbar. That means that if you want to see your list of starred items and easily them, you can. Even beyond the results page, while browsing the web you can quickly click the star icon in Toolbar to create a bookmark, and those pages will start showing up in the new stars feature.

According to Google, stars in search replace SearchWiki. "In our testing, we learned that people really liked the idea of marking a website for future reference, but they didn't like changing the order of Google's organic search results. With stars, we've created a lightweight and flexible way for people to mark and rediscover web content. For people who like annotations, we have Sidewiki, a more powerful way for people to contribute and discover helpful information next to pages across the Internet. All your existing SearchWiki edits will be preserved with your Google Account."

The new feature was implemented last week and it should be available globally for all signed-in users.

Yahoo!, one of the world giant internet companies, has turned 15 yesterday, and they are celebrating with some hits that could keep the company on the top and growing.

Yesterday we talked about a painful hit Yahoo got from Google, which bought the Yahoo's default photo editor Picnik in favor of Google's Picasa. But that was after a much bigger Yahoo shot, which made a deal with Microsoft to compete with Google's search engine.

So what now? First of all, they became the default search engine on the new Motorola Backflip, AT&T’s first phone using the Google's Android operating system.

According to Search Engine Land, a Yahoo spokesperson said to them:

"We are happy that AT&T has chosen Yahoo! Search as the default mobile search service on the Motorola Backflip, AT&T’s first Android device. We have a long-standing relationship with AT&T and more than 80 carrier partnerships around the world for our award-winning mobile search experience. Mobile is a key corporate priority for Yahoo! and we are focused on making our personally relevant mobile Internet services, like search, available to the broadest audience possible on the widest range of devices."

Second, Yahoo's Ivan Davtchev unveiled yesterday at the SMX West Yahoo's answer to Google's Trends - TimeSense. According to Davtchev, the main differences with Google's tool are:

TimeSense uses language modeling to determine what queries are relevant to “right now”

TimeSense is better at identifying long-tail queries, whereas Google Trends is good at identifying “head” queries

However, the tool is not publicly available yet, and it may be somewhere in the future.

Yahoo was founded on March 1, 1995. Jerry Yang and David Filo posted about their start:

"We've had the unique opportunity to help create an industry and shape the online world, and will continue to focus on the values that brought us here --working hard, having fun, being passionate about your ideas, believing in each other, and always trying to invent the future. And as we celebrate 15 years today, we are even more excited than ever about what lies ahead, and the potential of Yahoo! and the Internet. Of course, we didn't set out to start one of the world's largest Internet companies or be leading a movement that has changed the world. We were just a couple of Stanford graduate students doing our research (supposedly) while our professor was on sabbatical."

If you had bought in at the opening $24.50 per stock back then and kept it through until today, you would have 24 shares for each initial one. So you would have $377.52 as of close of trading today - given the current value of $15.73, a little over 15 times your initial investment.

A few weeks after Microsoft-Yahoo deal was announced, Google has acquired Picnik, the popular and fast growing online photo editor. Interestingly, this service is the default editor tool for Yahoo's Flickr. Can we speak of a Google counter-attack?

Well, it is certainly not a "heart counter-attack", since it doesn't directly affect the companies' main product - search engine. However, it could definitely be read as a signal, as a territory marking, as a reminding from the huge Google - we are still here and we are still very powerful.

Picnik is cloud-based and in addition to Flickr, it is integrated directly into SmugMug and other photo repositories. It works directly with online photo libraries like Flickr, Facebook, and Picasa Web Albums. Users can also upload files to the service and download them again when they are done, after a few clicks.

Is is quite early to think that Google may use Picnik to enhance Picasa's usage while hurting Flickr's one, however, that option sounds reasonable, doesn't it?

Neither the ammount nor the terms & conds of the deal were revealed, but Picnik employee Virginia said in an official blogspot that the Seattle-based, 20 employees startup can now "think big". The announcement comes just a few days after another major milestone at Picnik, with the company announcing that it had surpassed more than one billion images edited on the site.

On the Google side, last month they acquired Aardvark, a social search engine and mobile Web email service reMail. Since September, Google has acquired 8 companies, and they've promised they will acquire one small company a month, and they will do a major deal once a year or every two years.

According to Picnik, "Google processes petabytes of data every day, and with their worldwide infrastructure and world-class team, it is truly the best home we could have found. Under the Google roof we’ll reach more people than ever before, impacting more lives and making more photos more awesome".

So what does this deal mean for users. Both Google and Picnik say that nothing by now, though Google said they'll be "working hard on integration and new features".

The editing capabilities Picnik offers are a natural complement to a Picasa, even though Picnik works in Flash, while most advanced Google apps use the slower JavaScript.

It is already a matter of fact that localization is the next thing in SEO world. Mobiles' and apps' influence is felt in the online space, so much the biggest companies are taking much care of it. See, for example, this blogpost and this one too.

The last release was Google's, which added the ability to refine your searches with the "Nearby" tool in the Search Options panel.

This tool works geographically — not just with keywords. What does this mean? That you don't have to worry about adding "Minneapolis" to your query and missing webpages that only say "St. Paul" or "Twin Cities."

Check it out by doing a search, clicking on "show options" and selecting "Nearby."

So you should take seriously this new online reality. Either if you have a global webpage or a localized one, the potential is huge. Imagine you purchase one of Fulltraffic's localized packages and you enhance your local presence. Not just that, now Google will put you into the "nearby" options. This means, if you have a high Fulltraffic's traffic you will get the first spots and then even more results!

Things are going on your behalf, dude!

Deal Makes Your Twitter Presence Even More Relevant

We've largely discussed news about Twitter lastly... and here's another one! We couldn't let it go, since it may be one of the most important deals of the year - a Twitter - Yahoo! deal.

Some weeks ago, Google's search engine started to show tweets on its results list, as an effort to make them real-time relevant. Now Twitter wants to cover a broader piece of the market, and they signed an agreement with Yahoo!, that holds 600 million daily users!

According to Twitter's blog, "Yahoo! will receive what has been dubbed "Firehose"—a full feed of public tweets sent to Twitter and our partners every second of every day from all around the world".

Through this arrangement, people will be able to find relevant tweets in Yahoo! Search as well as other popular products and properties, including the Yahoo! Homepage, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Sports, and more. Yahoo! will also be able to build unique Twitter clients into their properties making it easier for folks to tweet wherever they feel comfortable within the Yahoo! network.

Now, with recent Microsoft-Yahoo! deal, we think it is a matter of time Twitter results start to show up on Microsoft's Bing too.

So, once again, you get more reasons to have a strong presence on Twitter. Remember, the more you tweet, the more you will be searchable for engines' spiders. We've large discussed how important social media is for your SEO activity, as social media keeps growing in the online galaxy.

	Source: Twitter blog

Today all of us have got what we asked for - numbers! Twitter has recently delivered actual numbers of its metheorical growth. According to them, users were tweeting 5,000 times a day in 2007. By 2008, that number was 300,000, and by 2009 it had grown to 2.5 million per day. Tweets grew 1,400% last year to 35 million per day. Today, the "twwesphera" produces 50 million tweets per day—that's an average of 600 tweets per second.

This info is very partial and we should trust on Twitter to believe, however it is a piece of information nobody should ignore. It is longly known that Twitter has been growing exponentially, however, some analysts are already talking about a stagnation both in newcomers and in users actual use of the tool. Actually, sometimes this kind of things need to be moderated, so here's a link to "7 Reasons Not to Put All Your Eggs in the Twitter Basket", by SocialMediaExaminer.

According to Twitter itself, tweet deliveries are a much higher number because once created, tweets must be delivered to multiple followers. Then there's search and so many other ways to measure and understand growth across this information network. Tweets per day is just one number to think about and they promised they will share more information on Twitter use.

If you are a Blogger user you will be especially interested in this new. And if not, there are plenty of interesting things that you can learn from it.

Why do we say this? Because Google has just released a completely new mechanism that allows Blogger pages to load much more faster, which is essential for readers' satisfaction.

Search results pages, label pages and archive pages in Blogger have been were taking longer to load than they should. The, users suffer, and the blogger suffers, because as latency increases, pageviews go down. Last year, Google did a study for this phenomenon, and they found surprising results.

The change Google's just introduced is in the way they paginate webpages on Blogger. They will dynamically adjust how much content to send to the browser depending on:

The amount of HTML on the page being requested (in kilobytes)

Tthe number of images on the page

Users can continue to use “older posts” and “newer posts” navigation elements to see additional posts.

For major changes like this, Google does incremental roll-outs so they can monitor performance as they progress. They expect the change to be fully deployed over this week, and once fully deployed, they expect to see several results:

 pages will load faster

pageviews, if impacted at all, may increase

Did you think MySpace had surrender to Facebook, Twitter and even the new Google Buzz? Well, if you thought so, you were wrong - MySpace is very live, and it has just started to be Google-integrated.

MySpace and Google execs had announced an integration agreement in December 2009, which is now going live. What does it mean? The Google results will show live updates from MySpace users including news, photos, music and blog posts that people had selected to make public, ranking the results by the most relevant.

According to Mike Jones, MySpace's co-president, said: “This partnership increases our users’ ability to share and showcase content across the open Web and gives people outside the MySpace network even more ways to discover new content. Beginning today, when you search for anything on Google, as part of your search results you will see live updates from MySpace users, including news, photos, and blog posts that they have chosen to publicly publish. Further, all of these updates will be ranked to reflect the freshest, most relevant results, making it easier to find the latest information on anything you're searching for on Google, including the music and artists you enjoy most.”

This kind of deal reminds Google's integration with real-time updates from Twitter, which provides it a sense of what is being talked about NOW.

Also Microsoft’s Bing partnered with Twitter, MySpace and Facebook to make their searches more relevant and faster.

So now you know, the more you use the social media, the more chances you have be shown in organic search results on Google.

We know Mac users love browsing the web with Mac's default browser Safari or even with Opera. But, what can you do, the world is broader than that. It exists Google Chrome, for example, and it is a powerful browser, as you can expect.

Some weeks ago we reported about Google's release of a new Chrome version with extensions and bookmark sync. That was for Windows. Now they have launched the Mac version.

With this new version, you'll be able to install any of over 2,200 extensions currently available in Chrome's extensions gallery. Extensions can add useful, informative, fun, or quirky functionality to the browser. You can manage your extensions by clicking on the Window menu and choosing "Extensions."

"For this release, we remained focused on providing a snappy, safe, and simple browsing experience on the Mac", say Google devs.

About sync - the users who use several computers will now be able to keep their bookmarks synchronized between them. If some of your computers aren't Macs, that's not a problem, since bookmark sync works on Linux and Windows too. They also added bookmark and cookie managers following Mac's aesthetics. For technically-oriented users, the new Task Manager will help them keep tabs on all of their tabs.

If you are a Mac and Chrome user and haven't tried the new version yet, check the About window and look for version 5.0.307.

Here is a video tour of it:

Google has just launched a new product called Google Buzz, that will ease on users to share data. It seems that Google is running after Twitter and Facebook this time, but what's innovating here is you can make everything from your email inbox, with no need to open another tab or something.

As they explain in the official Google blog:

"If you think about it, there's always been a big social network underlying Gmail. Buzz brings this network to the surface by automatically setting you up to follow the people you email and chat with the most. We focused on building an easy-to-use sharing experience that richly integrates photos, videos and links, and makes it easy to share publicly or privately (so you don't have to use different tools to share with different audiences). Plus, Buzz integrates tightly with your existing Gmail inbox, so you're sure to see the stuff that matters most as it happens in real time."

This new feature is being made able these days, so if it wasn't into your Gmail account, it will soon. They are making it available for companies and institutions out there that use Gmail through Google Apps, with added features for sharing within organizations.

They launched a mobiel version as well. They sayb it is much more than just a small screen version of the desktop experience, since they added to it the geographical component. For how to use it, see the Official Google Mobile Blog.

Here is a video introducing Google Buzz, and next a video of it on mobiles.

SEO is everywhere. Why? Simple - because SEARCH is everywhere. People search more and more on the web, not just because they use the web more, but because they have more search engines everyday.

Google, as you know, is not the only search engine on earth, as there are Microsoft's Bing or Yahoo! Search or Ask. Now Twitter came in the game revolutioning the searches to make them real time.

Today we are going to talk about Google itself, but not about its traditional search engine. It's about the search box they introduced last April into you Gmail options. As you may know, you have the option to search directly from your Gmail interface, so that you don't need to go out from it to search something a friend has just asked.

Googler Adam de Boor says the team has made now some cool improvements to the feature. For example:

Dictionary definitions: use a keyword like "define" in English and you'll see the first definition of the word, with a link to the dictionary from which it came.

Spelling corrections: if you mistype something in your search, Google’s spell checking software will automatically offer you a more common spelling of that word.

Calculations: when you type in an arithmetic expression, you'll get the result. The "Paste result" option will actually paste the result of the computation. Magic!

Local results: when you search for a particular place or for things near a particular place, you can expect for maps, but they will show up only in a few weeks. Meanwhile, the "More info" link will take you to the place page.

Weather: just type "weather" followed by the city and state, zip code, or city and country. And that's it you've got what you wanted... or not ;)

News: if your query matches something in the news, the feature will show you one hit and an indication of how many related articles there are, with a link to go see them.

Another cool thing of this features is that it's now availabla in every available Gmail language, and you'll get search results that match your preferred language.

In addition, De Boor added a search button to the toolbar when you're composing a message:

If you've got text selected when you click it, the engine will search for that text. If don't, you'll just get a search box where you can start typing.

Keywords on URL - Is Their Position That Important?

Did you ever asked yourself if the order you position the keywords in your URL affects your website's SEO? If so, it's certainly an interesting question, and as in previous opportunities, we decided today to bring you an in house answer from Google itself.

It comes, how not, from SEO expert and Googler Matt Cutts, so pay attention to what he has to say.

And if you wanted the concept written, here you've got it.

Question from Adeel, Manchester (UK) - does the position of keywords in the URL have a significant impact? It would be better example.com/keyword/London than example.com/London/keyword?"

I woudn't really obsess about that level of detail. It does help a little bit to have keywords in the URL. It doesn't help so much that you should stuffing a ton of keywords in the URL. You know, if there's a convenient way that's good for users where you have four, five keywords, that might be worthwhile. But I wouldn't obsess about it at the level of how deep is the URL in the path or you know, how I might combine it.

For example, on my blog, when I do a post, I'll take the first 4, 5 words, or 2 or 3 words related to that post and I use that as the URL. But you know, you don't need to make, seven, eight, ten, twenty words, because that just looks spam at users and people will probably not click through as much at the first place. So, positioni is gonna be a very very secondary thing, of keywords on the URL. I would not worry about that so much as having great content, that people want to link to and people want to find out about.

We at FullTraffic use Twitter to spread our voice. It's important for us to you not just being able to get lots of traffic, but to be up to date in all SEO-related items. Every time we publish a new post, you are immediately reported of it through the great microblogging venture.

So, we hope you use Twitter to engage your readers/costumers and keep the traffic coming back to your website even after FullTraffic's delivery. And as you know, Twitter is developing many features both for business users and for personal users.

The last one they've just introduced is Hovercard, that may improve the Twitter experience for those who use the website to tweet by easing the way you interact with the folks behind each tweet.

On any timeline, Hovercards are cards which appear when you hover over a username or avatar. The cards display additional information about the person and allow you to interact with them while staying within the context of your page.

The twitter developers say it will be useful to find out more about retweeted people and follow them right there. You can also see more information with an expanded view of the card.

Sending direct messages to people you follow will also be possible so you can interact with tweeters without having to move off the page.

Hovercards will be rolled out in stages so not all of you will be seeing them right away.

The feature looks interesting. It will solve the present problem that makes you go to the tweeter's page to see who he is, so everything will flow smoothier.

However, many of Twitter users use it through third party aplications such as TweetDeck or Echofon, so we hope that third party developers go up to the horse and include their own version of Hovercards in their own apps.

After you bought a FullTraffic Package to bring a massive ammount of traffic to your website, you want that traffic to keep on coming. That's one of the reasons you should offer a RSS subscription to your readers, if you didn't yet.

And that's why so many websites provide RSS subscriptions - they want their readers to be up to date, they want them to come back. However, many websites don't provide this service yet.

For these websites and for their readers, Google Reader developed a way to keep track of them. Do you want to be notified when a specific page without RSS feed was updated? Create your own custom feed from Google Reader. For example, if you wanted to follow Google.org's latest products, just type "http://www.google.org/products.html" into Reader's "Add a subscription" field. Click "create a feed", and Reader will periodically visit the page and publish any significant changes it finds as items in a custom feed created just for that page.

Google Reader provide short snippets of page changes to help you quickly decide if the page is worth revisiting. They say they're working on improving the quality of these snippets. If you don't want Google to crawl or create feeds for a specific site, site owners can opt-out.

Google released last week Social Search, a new searching approach that includes friend's results. What does it mean? That when you get your results list, your friends' blogpost will show up, next to regular results.

Google considers that people trust more in their friends' opinions that in those of the experts, and that's quite right. This feature was released last October, but it was accesible for a small number of alpha users. After a large number of users opted in and tried out the feature, Social Search has graduated and is available in beta for all signed-in users on google.com in English.

In addition, they enhanced its Social Search with images results. Now when you're doing a search on Images, you may start seeing pictures from people in your social circle. These are pictures that your friends and other contacts have published publicly to the web on photo-sharing sites like Picasa Web Albums and Flickr. Just like the other social results, social image results appear under a special heading called "Results from your social circle." Here's what it looks like:

They have added two new links for "My social circle" and "My social content." These links will take you to a new interface where you can see the connections and content behind your social results. Clicking on "My social circle" shows your extended network of online contacts and how you're connected.

Clicking on "My social content" lists your public pages that might appear in other people's social results. This was created to give you a peek under the hood of how Social Search builds your social circle and connects you with web content from your friends and extended network. Do you want to check out your social circle? You can do it on this link.

This video will show you how Social Search works:

And if you want more, here's a video from Matt Cutts explaining the feature:

	And finally, another demonstration:

Google has launched a new Chrome version for Windows, that includes extensions and bookmark sync.

Extensions is Google Chrome's parallel to Firefox Add-Ons, and now they are offering 1,500 of their extensions on their gallery.

Extensions on Google Chrome take only seconds to install, and can be uninstalled just as easily. You can view and manage the settings for your extensions by clicking on the Tools menu and selecting "Extensions."

You can see a video on how to use these extensions here:

Those currently using the stable version for Windows will be automatically updated within the next week (or you can check for updates manually).

To those using Google Chrome on Linux, extensions are enabled on the beta channel. And for those using Google Chrome for Mac, Google is working on bringing extensions, bookmark sync and more to the beta soon.

On the other hand, bookmark sync is a handy feature for those of you who use several computers — say, a laptop at work and a desktop at home. You can enable bookmark sync to synchronize your bookmarks on all of your computers so that when you create a bookmark on one computer, it's automatically added across all your computers. This means that you won't need to manually recreate the bookmark each time you switch computers.

Here's a video on how to make the sync:

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has many fronts. It's not just about ranking on Google - you have Bing, Yahoo, Ask and other search engines out there! However, we are not talking today just about regular, big search engines, but about different platforms as well.

One of the most popular of these platforms is Twitter. Twitter has developed meteorically the last couple of years and they developed a surprising search engine as well.

Now we know through their official blog that they are about to change their welcome page for new users, in order to make it friendlier to start searching for friends. "Two of the biggest challenges for new users have been finding accounts to follow that appeal to their interests, and finding their friends and colleagues who tweet", says Josh in a blogpost.

The microblogging company has learned that by making suggestions of who to follow, they can help users get going more easily. So in their new design they're taking some steps to continue improving this process: "Once a user signs up and selects what they're interested in, we show them some accounts that relate to that interest. Next, we help them find their friends and colleagues by checking their address books, and third we give them a chance to search for anyone we or they missed in this process".

How do they find relevant accounts for users? They've created a number of algorithms to identify users across a variety of clusters who tweet actively and are engaged with their audiences. Then, they group these active users into lists of users by interests. The user will browse into the areas they are interested in, instead of being suggested a random set of 20 users to follow.

The lists will be refreshed frequently, of course, since the algorithms identify new users who should be suggested in these lists and some that are not as engaging as before.

In addition, they will include a set of "Staff Picks" that are manually selected by Twitter employees as some of their favorites.

So now you know. If you are a twitter user, and you are committed to improve your SEO and being followed for many, it is worth to keep active and relevant. By doing this, Twitter will suggest you to new followers, within a relevant group of interest.

Yes, yes. Did you ever think of this before? Did you ever think: "OK, i'm reporting this, but I'm sure it will get lost in the giant's beaurocracy"?. Or just: "I won't report the spam, what for?".

The move towards localization and geo-localization is pushed by online leaders like Twitter and Google.

The other big word of these days seems to be "mobile". The apps world has started to broaden after Google's open of its Nexus One and its Android OS.

Bringing both together, Google has developed now an improved why to make searches on a smartphone. Because sometimes typing a query into the search box on a phone can often be slow and difficult, Google enhanced its results suggestions to the user, based on where they are placed in the moment of the search or in the last location.

This new features works in the US only, and on Android powered devices and iPhone, but we are sure things will soon get expanded, as it usually happens.

For example, when users in the Boston metro area begin typing "Muse", suggestions such as "museum of science boston" and "museum of fine arts boston" are providedç.

Users in San Francisco who begin their query with "Muse" will see suggestions for museums in the San Francisco area.

You may have to refresh google.com in your phone browser to see the new optimized suggestions.

To allow this feature to work, turn on "Save recent locations" and "Allow use of device location" under the Settings link on the google.com home page.

America runs an ambiguous attitude towards Google-China conflict. U.S. Ambassador to China, Jon Huntsman, says the U.S. government will stay out of that conflict, although simultaneously he stressed that the issue of Internet freedom is related to free speech, which is a core American value

The conflict originated after Google discovered a cyber attack on Gmail accounts of China human rights activists. Google is considering pulling out of China because of this problem, which actually accumulates to a previous Internet censorship case.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton issued a statement, saying Washington is very concerned about the Google developments.

According to Huntsman, "this is an issue that impinges upon probably one of the most important of all the issues that we stand for as a country and that is freedom of expression, freedom of speech and Internet freedom."

At the same time, he said the U.S. government sees the Google's negotiations with China as a business matter and therefore will not get involved.

"This is an issue that will play out for some time between Google and Google's partners here in China and the Chinese government, and they will make whatever decisions Google feels is appropriate. That won't be influenced by the United States government," he said.

Although his focus is on the American company right now, this will lead to a broader discussion about free expression and Internet freedom in the commercial realm, especially in with China.

"It is very difficult in today's environment to do business, anywhere in the world, without some sort of commitment to openness, transparency, and freedom. That is kind of where the world is inexorably going," he said.

Huntsman is also concerned that cyber hackers based in China have, for years, been attacking U.S. government computers. "It has been ongoing for a long time. It is deeply disturbing. It is being discussed in appropriate channels," he said.

According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu, cyber attacks are against Chinese law.
